Tracey Emin’s latest exhibit opened May 26 at Turner Contemporary Gallery in her hometown of Margate, and it seems to be getting a lot of praise thus far.  It features both new and existing works by Emin alongside erotic works by JMW Turner and Auguste Rodin.  The general consensus seems to be that She Lay Down Deep Beneath the Sea is quieter and less full of anger than past exhibitions, but the eroticism and torment (or maybe sadness?) still remain.  I would love to see more of Tracey Emin’s work in person.  I saw a drawing of hers in Chicago a couple of years back, but that’s it.

So this video is a pretty corny news story, but I thought it was funny that they compare the timing of Emin’s show to the resurgence of erotica as seen in the popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey.
