ADMIRING JENNA GRIBBON

I fell in love with Jenna Gribbon's paintings of Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette immediately when they debuted in the Sofia Coppola film back in 2006.  As I recently discovered, Gribbon's other work is pretty spectacular as well.  The mixture of beautifully rendered objects and scenes with crudely drawn symbols and stage curtains gives the impression of dreams, memories, and other fictions fabricated in the mind.  It's playful, theatrical, strange, and just so gosh-darn pretty.
