I went to the Contemporary Art Museum yesterday to hear local artist Daniela Koontz speak about her work.  She has a fascination with both Baroque and Rococo pattern and the Minimalist aesthetic, and she attempts what would seem like the nearly impossible task of finding a balance between the two with great success.  I am especially drawn to the top image of the coiled rope with the beautiful halo of faint floral pattern.
